Got Work? That seems to be the common theme in today’s economy and in the near future. Adelanto’s approach to adapting to the current state of affairs is to provide a forum for people to network and either find job opportunities or maybe go back to school and pursue careers they didn’t know they wanted or could do. Adelanto’s Job Fair brings together jobseekers and employers in one setting.

Adelanto faces one of the highest unemployment rates in San Bernardino County. In order to lead the workforce in the right direction, the City initiated a Job and Resource Fair which was established in June of 2010. In the first year there were 12 Resource Vendors, 32 Job Resource Vendors and 1,430 Job Seekers.

In the event hosted this year on May 19, 2011, 19 Resource Vendors and 40 Job Resource Vendors participated in the fair with an attendance greater than last year’s. The efforts to increase employment in the area have been coordinated by both the City of Adelanto and San Bernardino County workforce assistance Staff. Another Job Fair was hosted on September 15, 2011.
